The Align button at the top of the 3D log designer window allows you to click and drag the visible log columns to be in virtually any layout you want, such as in a circle, in a straight line, etc. In the examples below, the visible log items are shown with color- and letter-coded circles, with a sample of their resulting 3D log.

The settings in the Layout Options window offer automatic snapping and alignment settings. This window is accessible via the 3D Striplog Layout Options windows, under the Options / Layout menu.
Menu Options
- Snap: Check this item to have the log columns snapped to the closest 45-degree angle in the layout preview window. An example is shown above, left.
- Align... Choose this menu item to align the the log items in a straight line, at the direction specified.
- Direction: Enter here the azimuth bearing for the log items. For example, to have the items lined up to the east of the log axis, you would enter "90".
- Column Spacing: Enter the spacing, as a percent of your project size, for the log items. The setting to use will depend on the width of your log items themselves. For example, if your items have a radius of "1", you could enter a spacing of "2" for them to lie right next to each other.
